About Me
Hi! I am Natalie. I am super fun and cool and awesome.
I was born in Baltimore, Maryland. Being raised in the Chesapeake Bay, I developed a deep love for the outdoors and a fierce determination to protect it. I am a particular fan of water, I love swimming, surfing, and sailing when I get the chance. But as time went on, these experiences developed from being hobbies to shaping my values and how I see the world.
Whether I was swimming in the ocean or hiking a mountain, my care for the environment grew. I have also always been curious about how things work. I enjoy problem-solving and thinking through real-world challenges. I chose Biosystems Engineering because it combines my interest in engineering with my passion for the environment. I like that it focuses on applying engineering principles to real issues like agriculture, water resources, energy, and ecosystem restoration.
I believe that engineering is not just about building structures or systems, but about building a sustainable future. I hope that I will pursue a career working in a field where I can contribute to ecosystem restoration and sustainable resource management, particularly on the coast. I want my work to ensure that places like the Chesapeake Bay thrive for years to come, so other people get the chance to love it the way I do!
This is when I went ziplining in Costa Rica!
